 FOR SALE : ENG. OAK WIDE LONG HANDWORKED BOARDS. 100 SQ.M. English Oak boards, entirely handworked from sawn state. 30mm thick. Random widths from around 100mm to 225mm. Lengths from around 2 metres to over 4 metres. Mostly 160 to 190 mm and mostly over 2.5 metres. Edges routed to half lap, with arrises 'rolled' over. To retain the natural undulations created by nature as the boards dry these boards are entirely hand worked in the UK (not China) from sawn to smooth natural undulating surface as seen in the photos of a finished floor. They are of a 'country' grade but are not very knotty. They will contain defects which we incorporate in the floor then repair by filling or fitting Lutyens style patches. Defects will include knots of all sizes ( mostly up to about 30mm diameter, if any, few larger), splits, shakes, sticker marks, variable colour, occasional tiger brown, woodworm holes ( some boards were attacked during air drying but I am told the kilning has killed the beggars).
We make fabulous floors from boards similar to these but in much wider, longer boards - e.g. up to 12 metres long and 1 metre wide. We have built up an excess of stock of the shorter narrower boards and wish to sell them to make some space for incoming stock. This offer is for boards only, unfinished and not fitted. These boards have cost us over £150 per square metre to make. We will accept £75 per square metre plus VAT . Will split but no order less than 20 sq.m. No picking over stock but we will deal fair.
